When we hear a story we place ourselves within the narrative, whether as an active participant or simply as a disembodied observer. We use our experience or imagination to flesh out the words and gestures gifted by the storyteller.

The result is a child that is both of ourselves and of the story - connecting each with a hidden thread.
Thus we empathise and care for the characters as a parent does. We hope for their ambitions and place our own within them.
When then I speak of an architecture that acts as storyteller, hopefully this is not too much a leap. Specifically an architecture that entails a ritual that engenders a connection between those that inhabit it and the characters the story tells of. If the architecture has the qualities of a good storyteller and has tailored its story to the listener, a child between the two is born.
All this stems from the developement in individual worlds that are formed in the urbanisation. We need a means to believe in connections existing between those worlds. Story is a life rope to save those cast adrift in an urban sea.
