RECONFIGURING AN AXIS / 1 of 13

VIEW TOWARD THE SOUTHERN MOUNTAIN

At street level the arcade is reconfigured to create a penetrable undulating parkland between the proposed Sewoon district redevelopment. This forms a green axis from Bukaksan - the Northern Mountain, through Changdoekgung Palace to Namsan - the Southern Mountain. The axis would lie perpendicular to Cheongyeongchong Stream, a much beloved pedestrian route through the centre of Seoul, which is accessible directly at the South end of Arcade 1 and the North end of Arcade 2 (shown here).
